Girl waiting for transplant inspires dad to run
A dad is taking part in his first Great North Run after being inspired by his daughter.
Syed Jawwad's youngest daughter Masuma has dilated cardiomyopathy and is awaiting a heart transplant.
Supported by a ventricular assist device, her resilience through countless hospital stays has motivated Mr Jawwad, from Newcastle, to take on the challenge and fundraise for the British Heart Foundation.
Starting from scratch in June with no prior running experience, he has has been training with unwavering dedication, documenting every step of his journey as @daddyontherun on Instagram.
