Award winners celebrate Making a Difference
The 2024 BBC Radio Humberside Make A Difference Awards have taken place at Beverley Minster.
Thirty-two nominees, alongside friends and family were treated to an afternoon tea ahead of a ceremony hosted by presenters Kofi Smiles and Carla Greene.
Make a Difference was launched at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, as a virtual noticeboard for people able to offer help to those needing support.

Volunteer Award - for an individual who makes a notable difference to their community by giving their time voluntarily to help others - Aidan Gorman from Withernsea
Community Groups Award - for a group of people who have helped to genuinely change the lives of others within their community - Jemma Akers-Jacklin (Jen's Special Place) from Scunthorpe
Fundraiser Award - for an individual or group of people who have gone the extra mile to raise funds for a good cause - Paul Verrico from Epworth
Carer Award - for someone who improves the life of an individual or group of people through their helpfulness, compassion and support - Rhiannon Walton from Grimsby
Great Neighbour Award - for an individual who helps to make their local area a better place to live or work, either on a regular basis or through a single act of kindness - Rob Flake from Driffield
Bravery Award - for an individual or group of people who has shown outstanding courage, defiance and duty in the face of perceived danger, fear or difficulty - Letty Blyth from Grimsby
The Green Award - for an individual or group of people who make where they live a better place by caring for the environment and nature - Rewilding Youth, Bridlington
The Animal Award - for an animal that improves the life of an individual or group of people or a person or group of people working with animals to improve animal welfare - Thunder the therapy dog and owner Adrian Ashworth from Hornsea
