Car smashed in high speed roundabout crash

Dashcam footage captured the moment a dangerous driver hit another car at high speed having gone through red lights at a roundabout.

Darren Marshall crashed into another vehicle after he left the M40 and drove towards the Handy Cross roundabout at High Wycombe.

Marshall, 49, of Pitsea in Essex, who police said was formerly of Worthing in West Sussex, has been sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court after admitting causing serious injuries by dangerous driving.

Marshall, of Carlisle Way, was given an eight-year driving ban, a 17-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.

Thames Valley Police said the crash, dated 19 May 2023 on the dashcam footage, was "a stark reminder of how reckless behaviour can change lives in an instant".

The force confirmed two people had received serious injuries and that the victims did not want any updates on their injuries to be made public.
