Video shows striking 110,000-poppy display on pier
A striking display of more than 110,000 poppies has been unveiled on the world's longest pleasure pier.
Donations of crocheted poppies poured in from around the world and now run the entire 1.33-mile (2.14km) length of Southend Pier in Essex.
The remembrance memorial will be on show from 5 to 16 November and was assembled by a team of more than 1,000 volunteers.
Essex Poppy Appeal manager Kirsten Swan: "It is a symbol of remembrance, it is a symbol of hope, and I think that still resonates with a lot of people."
