Majority of seats would trigger indyref talks - Swinney
SNP leader John Swinney has said that if the SNP wins a majority of Scottish seats at the general election, it will embark on negotiations with the UK government to turn the democratic wishes of the people of Scotland into a reality.
During the SNP manifesto launch, he said the Scottish people had expressed these wishes in the 2021 Scottish parliamentary election in which there was a majority in favour of independence.
He added that the best way to secure independence was through a democratic referendum.
