Drummer quits office job to busk near gig venues

A busker who quit his office job to entertain music fans outside gigs and festivals says he absolutely "loves it" when crowds start "dancing and having a good time".

Using his makeshift drum kit, Joey Swindells has been busking since 2018, initially as a way of reducing his student overdraft.

The 28-year-old from Bolton, who goes by the moniker Busking Joe, managed to save enough money to buy and convert a van into a camper.

Targeting gigs and festivals around the country, Joey told BBC Radio Manchester he eventually started earning enough money to quit his office job.
