US Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi has said she will be stepping down at the end of her term in January 2027. Pelosi directly challenged Donald Trump throughout his presidency, ripping a copy of his State of the Union address behind his back, clashing in front of the press in the Oval Office, and calling him a 'domestic enemy' in documentary footage. Pelosi, 85, served as the first female Speaker of the House and led her party in the lower chamber of Congress from 2003 until 2023.
