On holiday on election day? Learn how you can vote

The UK will go to the polls on 4 July, in a month that traditionally sees many Scots leave the country on their summer holidays.

In most parts of Scotland schools will have broken up and many holidaymakers will be flocking to sunnier climes. Many football fans could also be abroad for Euro 2024.

So how can you exercise your right to vote if you're not at home on polling day? And with some UK elections now requiring valid photo ID to vote, what forms will be accepted at polling stations?
