The route will take walkers to Jersey, Sark, Herm, Guernsey and Alderney.

A new guide to a 110-mile walk through the Channel Islands has been published.

The guide includes information on points of interest, local history, public transport and where walkers can find food, drink and toilets.

Each section of the Channel Island Way guide is illustrated by a map and photographs.

Tourism officials hope the guide will showcase the Channel Islands as a destination for walking holidays.

Director of marketing and tourism at Visit Guernsey Chris Elliott said he hopes the guide will sell the island to even more walking enthusiasts.

Donna Le Marrec, development manager at Jersey Tourism, said: "Working on a joint Channel Island project, the first of its type, has been amazing.

"All of the islands' tourist boards have worked really well together and the outcome, a 110 mile coastal way, is breathtaking."
