The fake website claims it can offer driving test bookings

Islanders are being warned of a fake website claiming to offer bookings for driving theory and practical driving tests.

The States of Guernsey said the website says it can secure tests in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, but in reality, the bookings are never made.

It has reminded residents to only use the official website, external when booking a test.

It said it is not aware of many people being caught out by the fake website.

Colin Le Page, lead officer for Traffic and Highway Services, said: "We want to avoid people wasting their money and facing the disappointment of turning up to a test when no booking has been made.

"To be absolutely clear, the only way to book driving theory and practical tests is at traffic.gov.gg, external."
