Review into Jersey's road fuel prices
- Published
Jersey's economic development minister is supporting an investigation into whether fuel in Jersey is more expensive than in the UK.
Senator Alan Maclean has officially asked the island's competition regulator to look into the issue.
The Jersey Competition Regulation Authority (JCRA) said it was already investigating but some parties had refused to reveal information.
It said the minister's request would give it greater powers.
The JCRA said it hoped to explain the difference between fuel prices in Jersey and the UK and whether competition in the island was working.
It said it expected to finish the report by June 2011.
Senator Maclean said: "If it can save islanders a few pence per litre, in these times I think it is an exercise well worth doing."
