Jersey Airport roadworks project begins

A £750,000 road resurfacing project for routes to Jersey Airport is getting under way.
The Transport and Technical Services department said the roads were in a poor condition after roadworks and harsh weather last year.
The majority of the roads were last resurfaced 23 years ago.
L'Avenue de la Reine Elizabeth II and Avenue de la Commune will be resurfaced. The work is being done overnight to minimise disruption.
The roads will be closed each weeknight and the work will continue until May.
As part of the work a short section of footpath is being put in along the eastbound carriageway of L'Avenue de la Reine Elizabeth II near Beaumont Hill, and the street lights are being improved.
Islanders can follow the progress of work on the States of Jersey website, external.
