Stereo Kicks announce they are splitting up

Stereo Kicks have announced that they are splitting up and going their separate ways.

The 8 piece boy band which were formed on last year's X Factor, released a statement to their fans on their facebook page this morning, saying:

"We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually. We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band,"

"From the bottom of our hearts, we will be forever grateful for all of your hard work, support and love. We can't thank you enough."

Newsround interviewed Tom, James, Barclay, Jake, Chris, Reece, Casey and Charlie in June, where they told us all about their new single and plans for the future.

The boys say their final performance will be on July 25 at Thorpe Park.
