The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom won the award for best action/adventure game at The Game Awards on Thursday night.
Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma received the award for the game and on behalf of its developers, thanking everyone for their support.
It beat other games such as Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Star Wars: Jedi Survivor to win the award.
It was one of several nominations for Tears of the Kingdom at The Game Awards this year, including Game of the Year, where it was once again nominated alongside Spider-Man 2, but both titles missed out on the big prize.
A disappointing night for Spider-Man 2
The annual awards celebrate achievements in the video game industry and was once again held in the US city of Los Angeles, California for a second year in a row.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was nominated for seven awards in total, including Game of the Year and Best Action/Adventure, but lost out in every single category and didn't pick up a single trophy.
The game has had huge success since its release, becoming the fastest-selling video game made by PlayStation.
Best Family Game award
In the Best Family Game award category, Nintendo's new Mario game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder beat titles such as Pikmin 4 and Sonic Superstars.
Dragon Ball Z
Meanwhile the Game Awards was also a chance for developers to show off upcoming titles, including the latest entry to the popular Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series of video games.
The newest entry, which still doesn't have a release date, is called Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and will be available at some point on the Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
