Taylor Swift has announced her eleventh album following a big win at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

While accepting the award for album of the year for a record-breaking fourth time, the singer-songwriter shared the news live on television.

"I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret I've been keeping from you for the last two years," she said.

"Which is that my brand new album comes out April 19. It's called The Tortured Poets Department."

Taylor Swift posted images to social media to confirm the launch of her new album, along with an image of some possible song lyrics

Just minutes after her acceptance speech, a post confirming the album news was shared across a number of Taylor's social media platforms, including Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter.

The post revealed the cover for The Tortured Poets Department and teased some possible song lyrics.

The lyrics read: "And so I enter into evidence, My tarnished coat of arms, My muses, acquired like bruises, My talismans and charms, The tick, tick, tick of love bombs, My veins of pitch black ink, All's fair in love and poetry… Sincerely, the Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department".

Taylor Swift's Eras tour is thought to be the highest-grossing concert tour by any artist in history

Taylor attended the Grammy Awards during a pause in her Eras world tour.

The singer performs songs from each of her ten albums for more than three hours at every concert of her tour.

In December 2023, music magazine Pollstar said that Eras was the highest-grossing concert tour of all time - meaning it had made more money than any other artist's concert tour.

Fans are hoping that Taylor will be performing songs from The Tortured Poets Department when the Eras tour comes to Europe in May.
