Is Australia's first fur-line touching down soon?

If you had the chance, would you take your pet on a flight with you?

An airline in Australia is in the process of trying to make that dream a furry reality.

Virgin Australia has announced it will allow small cats and dogs to fly in the cabin by their owner's feet.

The plans will surely get some tails wagging, but the finer details haven't been worked out yet and it also relies on air regulators' approval.

What do you think about the idea of having pets in the cabin? Would your cat or dog behave if you took it on a flight with you? Let us know in the comments below.

If approved your furry friends could soon be joining you in the cabin

The airline said it hoped to be able to offer the service within the next 12 months.

Pets won't be allowed to run around the cabin though, as they would have to be in an approved carrier and placed under the seat for the flight.

Virgin says the service would be "limited to small cats and dogs" but hasn't given further details about the exact size restrictions.

Some airlines in the US already offer a similar service, but restrict certain breeds of animals.

So, what do you think, let us know in the comments.
