Radio 1’s Big Weekend: The highlights in pictures

Radio 1's Big Weekend is known for bringing some of the biggest artists to the stage. This weekend was no different as the weather shifted between sun and rain, but it didn't dampen the spirits of festival goers.

Over 100,000 people flocked to Luton for a weekend of incredible performances. With headliners including RAYE, Coldplay and Chase & Status.

Headline act Raye performed on the main stage on Saturday during the Big Weekend at Stockwood Park. Raye admitted she was "excited, nervous, with a lot of people" watching in Luton and at home.

Crowds enjoyed soulful vocals from a rising London star, Olivia Dean on Sunday. the star grew up in Haringey in London, just 30 miles from Luton's Stockwood Park.

Olly Alexander took to the stage with his first performance since his Eurovision disappointment. He was joined by two backing singer/dancers and had a video of himself on the big screen behind him, as he performed in his sporty red sunglasses.

Plenty of the audience were excited to see former Disney star Sabrina Carpenter's set. She came on stage and wowed audiences singing her recent hit 'Espresso'. And it turned out that wasn't the end of her appearance. She was brought out on stage on Sunday by Coldplay to sing during their song 'Magic'.

The final day of the festival finished with the headliners leaving fans in 'Paradise' as the weekend came to a close. With LED wristbands, fireworks and confetti, legendary band Coldplay didn't hold back, going to great lengths to make every moment of their show special for the watching crowd.

Fans were left smiling after a weekend of performances. The festival will be back at another UK location in 2025!
