Minecraft Live: What's coming to the game in 2025?

- Published
The first Minecraft Live of 2025 has just dropped, and it includes lots of updates heading to the game later this year.
Last year, Mojang, the makers of Minecraft announced that it was changing the way it does Minecraft Lives, splitting it into two shows a year instead of one.
"We're releasing more features more frequently. These releases are called "Game Drops". And because we're releasing features more often, we're also broadcasting not one, but two Minecraft Live shows per year!" the makers said.
But with A Minecraft Movie hitting cinemas soon, what was shared in the update? Take a look below to find out.

A Minecraft Movie game collab

A Minecraft Movie is almost here, and a new clip was teased during the livestream.
As well as that, actress Emma Myers (who plays Natalie in the film) also talked about a new in-game Live Event coming to Minecraft, where players take part in mini-games inspired by the movie and save Midport village from a piglin attack.
The event will be accessible from 25 March until 7 April on all Bedrock Edition platforms
If players complete all of the missions they'll be able to earn a special exclusive cape to wear.
Spring to Life update

Cows, pigs and chickens are getting some seasonal updates
The first game drop, or big update, coming to Minecraft this year is called Spring to Life.
The new update will introduce a variety of updates to the Overworld that will make biomes "feel more immersive and alive," according to the makers.
It will feature new warm and cold versions of mobs like cows, pigs, and chickens.
It will also include new ambient features like the glittering firefly bush, falling leaves, and whispers of sand.
The new update will launch on 25 March.
Ghastling - a new mob

Meet the dried Ghast, Happy Ghast, and Ghastling!
The second game drop of the year doesn't have a name just yet, but we do know what it will include.
This update will feature a new block called the Dried Ghast which can be found around fossils in the Nether, specifically in the Soulsand Valley biome.
If players re-hydrate the block by placing it in water it will turn into a Ghastling (a baby ghast).
This is different from the fireball shooting Ghasts that players can find elsewhere in the Nether.
If players feed their little Ghastling snowballs it will turn into a flying Happy Ghast, which can be ridden by up to three players, if players craft a harness for it.
"You can even build from the top of the happy ghast, making tall structures and those awe-inspiring sky builds a little bit more accessible for Survival Mode players." said Minecraft.
Also in this update will be the Player Locator bar, which is a new feature that will help players to find other players in their worlds.
