A security "dog" made by robotics company Boston Dynamics has been spotted patrolling Donald Trump's huge property in Florida in the United States.

Spot, as it is known, is the latest addition to the President-elect's security team at Mar-a-Largo (Mr Trump's home in Florida), since he won the US election.

But as fun as these robot dogs look, they come with a warning - "Do not pet"!

They have an important job to do according to Anthony Guglielmi, US Secret Service chief of communications.

“Safeguarding the president-elect is a top priority,” he said in a statement to the BBC.

The Secret Service are the team tasked with protecting the current President, the vice President, their families and the incoming President and their staff.

What can a robot dog do?

Spot, and other robot dogs like it, can walk up and down stairs, squeeze themselves into tight spaces and even open doors.

These particular dogs come with added security extras - multiple cameras on Spot can create 3D maps of its surroundings.

The robots come with "advanced sensors" to support their protection plans, Guglielmi added.

As president-elect (the next president) Mr Trump gets top security protection which is always on high alert, but especially so after he was shot at during the election.
