'Perfect' start for Ed Sheeran in 2025 charts

Ed Sheeran has said he is feeling "very, very grateful" after starting off 2025 with his eighth UK number one album with '+-=÷x (Tour Collection)'.
The album, which is made up of the singer's biggest hits and live recordings, finally reached the top spot after 14 weeks on the charts.
He held off Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Charli XCX to claim the first top spot of the year.
In the singles chart, US pop star Gracie Abrams scored the first number one of the new year, with her song 'That's So True'.

What's happened?
'+-=÷x (Tour Collection)' finally reached the UK album top spot, having been released in October 2024.
In a post on social media, Sheeran thanked all his fans for the album's success.
"My eighth UK number one album, thank you to everyone who streamed or bought it.
"Feeling very, very grateful. Happy new year folks, love you all," he added.
Sabrina Carpenter came in at number two with her album 'Short N' Sweet'.
SZA's 'SOS' took the third spot, while Chappell Roan's 'The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess' and Charli XCX's Brat were in at four and five.
