Superman has a Superdog in new movie trailer

A big Christmas present has arrived for Superman fans.

The first trailer for the new Superman movie has dropped.

It gives us a look at David Corenswet as Superman and his normal-person disguise, Clark Kent, and we also meet Lois Lane who is played by Rachel Brosnahan.

There's a lot of other people with powers in the trailer, some of them superheroes and others clearly super-villains in the movie.

In fact, our first sight of Superman shows him a bit bashed up, but luckily he can still manage to whistle for help from a cute dog who he calls Krypto!

Meet Krypto the... superdog?

The film is a reboot of the classic DC comic book character, who's been played in recent years by British actor Henry Cavill.

In the trailer though he appears to be having a rough time, fighting top baddie Lex Luthor and a load of other villains with superpowers - including a fire-breathing dragon!

The public also seems to be pretty fed up with Superman, as we see people shouting at him in the street and throwing things at him.

Superman's alter-ego is reporter Clark Kent

The Man of Steel is one of comic books' biggest names and first appeared in print in 1938.

As well as lots of comics and movies, Superman also features in television programmes, video games, theatre, radio shows and novels.

Superman is due for release on 11 July 2025 in the UK.
