England win Netball Nations Cup for the first time

England beat South Africa 61-55 in the final

After two weeks of competition England have won the Netball Nations Cup for the first time ever.

They beat South Africa 61-55 in the final as fans watched at London's Copper Box Arena.

England have reached the final of the competition five times since it began in 2012, but they have never won before.

Now, they are 2025's champions.

The Copper Box Arena in London was sold out for the nail-biting match.

After the first quarter of the game South Africa were in the lead 15-12.

But England fought back.

Going into the final 15 minutes it was all to play for with only three points separating the two teams

However, England pushed forward, eventually winning 61-59.

Goal shooter Liv Tchine was named Player of the Series

England defender Funmi Fadoju was named Player of the Match, whilst her teammate, goal shooter, Liv Tchine was named Player of the Series.

Tchine scored 49 of the goals for England in the final - with 100% accuracy.

Liv said: "I was actually shocked but I'm really happy that I was able to do it, and I wouldn't have been able to without the support of the girls, they made it so much easier for me."

In the third place play off Uganda beat Malawi 50-45

Earlier in the day on Sunday the third-place play off took place between Uganda and Malawi.

Uganda took the win with a score of 50-45.
