Celtic's season hasn't gone to plan
Rodgers has had two spells at Celtic Park. He first became manager between 2016–2019, before returning to the club two years ago.
He won back-to-back league titles in 2024 and 2025 - and he also steered Celtic to domestic trebles on two occasions during his first spell as manager.
However, this season, the champions have faced a disappointing run of results including two league defeat in a row, keeping them second in the table.
Unusual season for both Glasgow giants

Rangers also recently sacked their manager Russell Martin
Celtic aren't the only club in the Scottish Premiership to have sacked their manager recently.
Earlier this month, Russell Martin became the shortest-serving manager in the history of their Glasgow rivals, Rangers.
He was sacked after 17 games - with the club eighth in the league table at the time.
Hearts hopes

Meanwhile, Hearts are riding high at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The Edinburgh club, who last won the title in 1960, are eight points clear of Celtic - having beaten the club 3-1 at the weekend.
It has been 40 years since a team other than Rangers or Celtic last won Scottish football's top division.
However some experts think that Hearts' in-form side could mean there's a new team lifting the Premiership title this season.
