All kinds of tomato-based products have been popping up on the bridge

It's thought to have all begun during the recent cold spell of weather, when a photo was taken of some cherry tomatoes that had frozen on the bridge in the icy temperatures.

The picture soon went viral online and people started bringing their own tomatoes and tomato-based products to the bridge - including tins of tomatoes, tomato soup and even sachets of ketchup.

People from Dublin - and further afield - have also travelled to the site, that has been nicknamed 'Cherry Tomato Bridge' to catch a glimpse of the strange offerings.

However, according to reports, Dublin City Council have asked the public to stop bringing food to the bridge.

They say that they will be keeping a close eye on it - as well as cleaning the bridge every day.
