The Great British Bake Off 2025: Who are the contestants?

Calling all Bake Off fans - it's time to dust off those aprons as a fresh batch of contestants are ready to enter the famous tent.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are back to rate the contestants' bakes, alongside hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.

The new series begins on Channel 4 on 2 September, but who are the budding bakers hoping to impress this time round?

Aaron

Aaron loves to bake and enjoys fusing French patisserie with Caribbean flair.

Always experimenting, he's currently experimenting with Asian flavours such as miso and yuzu in his creations.

When he isn't in the kitchen, Aaron also enjoys cycling around the city, teaching himself French and sewing.

Hassan

Hassan works as a scientist and says he's always looking to learn about new flavours and gain new skills.

He lives in South Yorkshire with his mum and has love for sweet treats inspired by his Pakistani heritage.

Hassan is especially fond of praline and nut-based flavours that are often found in traditional Asian sweets.

Iain

Iain lives in Belfast with his partner and their cat, Viktor.

His two big passions in life are live music and sourdough, and he loves to recreate album cover art on the crusts of his loaves!

Iain blends classic flavours with a creative twist, often using fermented fruits and vegetables to enhance the depth and complexity of his flavours.

Jasmine

Jasmine is originally from Edinburgh but now lives with her cousins in London, where she is studying Medicine at university.

She learnt the basics of bread and cakes through her Mum and aunts, and has fond memories of batch baking for big family get togethers during holidays in the Scottish Highlands.

Sporty Jasmine also enjoys sea swimming, running half marathons and playing hockey for her university team.

Jessika

Raised in Cornwall, Jessika has fond childhood memories of eating corner-shop cakes with her sister after dance classes, which she says gave her a sweet tooth!

Her signature bakes mix big flavours like salted mango caramel and cardamom, or Jerusalem artichoke caramel with a dark chocolate mousse!

It sounds as if it might be hard to keep up with Jessika, as when she's not baking, she loves adventurous sports such as roller skating and cycling.

Leighton

Originally from Swansea, proud Welshman Leighton now lives in Surrey with his Californian partner and their Irish Terrier, Cilla.

He says he has always done things his own way, ignoring anyone that told him 'boys don't bake'!

Leighton likes to play with traditional Welsh/British and American flavours, with favourites like Welsh cakes with peanut butter and Victoria Sponge with key lime pie filling.

Lesley

Lesley been a hairdresser for 45 years and her lucky clients can expect a lovely slice of cake along with their trim.

When she's not working, Lesley loves birdwatching, gardening and going on a seaside walk followed by fish and chips.

Lesley has been baking since the age of ten and says that for her it's all about comfort, creativity and making people smile - especially when it's served with a cup of tea and a good ol' chat.

Nadia

Nadia lives in Liverpool with her partner and two daughters.

She is very proud of her roots and loves to blends Indian and Italian flavours in her cooking, bringing rustic charm and soulful flavours to everything she bakes.

Nadia says that Sundays are sacred "feast days," filled with homemade pasta, roasts, pudding and even some kitchen dancing too!

Nataliia

Originally from Ukraine, Nataliia was taught to bake by her grandmother, following traditional recipes handed down through the generations.

She still loves using these recipes and also infuses classic British bakes with flavours inspired by her roots such as honey, poppy seeds and spices like nutmeg and cinnamon.

Nataliia loves painting, running and going for countryside walks with her rescue dog Aria.

Pui Man

Pui Man describes herself as a bit of a perfectionist, taking pride in bringing attention to detail to each of her bakes, making sure they are as beautiful and bold as possible.

Born in Hong Kong and now living in Essex with her husband and two children, she recently rediscovered baking and hasn't looked back.

While the other bakers may dream of a famous Hollywood handshake, Pui Man says she's got her eye on the show's first ever Hollywood hug.

Toby

Toby grew up with his three siblings in the seaside town of Sidmouth in Devon.

He says he takes a simple approach to baking and tends to lean more towards classic recipes and flavours as he believes they are classics for a reason!

However his real passion lies in making bread and baking something different every day.

Tom

Tom grew up in London and learnt to bake scones and flapjacks alongside his Mum and Danish Granny.

He loves nothing more than adding a bit of creativity when making his beautifully presented bakes.

Tom's whole family enjoy cooking, and you can often find him fishing for sea bass with his brother, foraging for mushrooms and cooking roasts with his dad.
