Olivia Dean is UK number one in singles and album chart at the same time

British singer Olivia Dean has had a huge week in music - she's now number one on both the UK Singles Chart and Albums Chart at the same time.

Her song 'Man I Need' is the top song in the UK singles charts right now and her new album 'The Art of Loving' is also at number one in the album charts.

According to the Official Charts Company the 26-year-old singer is the first British solo female artist to claim both titles since Adele in 2021.

What's the big deal?

Dean's album has had a massive start, selling more than 53,000 copies in just one week- one of the best openings for a UK female artist in years.

It isn't just her song 'Man I Need' that has gained a place in the charts, she also has two other songs in the top 10.

Dean said she was "grateful and overwhelmed" by the news.

She said: "I love the album I made and I'm so proud of myself for making it.Ultimately it is so joyful seeing how much it means to people and how it's helping people understand love and loving."

Who is Olivia Dean?

Olivia Dean is a singer and songwriter from East London.

She started performing at school and grew up loving both soul and pop music.

She first rose to fame after the release of her debut album 'Messy', which made it to number four on the UK album charts and was nominated for a Mercury Prize.

In 2023 she won the BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year Award, and the following year in 2024 was nominated for three Brits.
