Wet and windy weather is expected across the UK

After some pretty cold weather you might be glad to hear that some milder weather looks to be on its way across parts of the UK - just in time for the end of half term!

However, whilst the temperature may be on the up, wet and windy conditions are also on the way.

The Met Office have issued yellow severe weather warnings for wind and rain in parts of the UK which they say could cause travel disruption, power cuts and flooding.

But, is the wind and rain going to affect your weekend plans? Let us know in the comments below.

You might have noticed yesterday morning when you stepped outside it felt warmer than it has done the past few weeks.

Across the UK temperatures were around 10C higher than they were on Wednesday.

Over the next few days this expected to continue.

However, from today we can also expect strong winds with gusts of up to 70mph in south and west Wales, southwest Scotland and eastern parts of Northern Ireland, as well as rain across a lot of the UK.

It could be a wet and windy end to half term for many

The Met Office said: "Friday's warnings highlight potential travel disruption, dangerous conditions near coasts and the possibility of power cuts for some."

And it isn't only Friday that could see some wild, wet and windy weather.

Whilst Saturday looks a less wet and windy day, there are currently five weather warnings out across the UK for Sunday- three for rain and two for wind.

Meaning the weekend and remaining days of half term could be a bit of a washout.
