Japan will continue hunting whales

Japan has said it will go ahead with its annual whale hunt.

Last year the country cut short the whaling season because of protests from anti-whaling campaigners.

Commerical whaling - hunting whales for money - has been banned for 25 years, but Japan still catches 1,000 whales a year for scientific research.

But some people say the hunt is commercial whaling in another form, and Australia is taking Japan to an international court to try to stop it.
