Different types of Paralympic wheelchairs explained

Wheelchairs are a big part of the Paralympics - from the rough and tumble of wheelchair rugby to the super speediness of wheelchair racing.

Ricky's been finding out the differences between everyday wheelchairs and those used for sport.

Wheelchair rugby is a high impact contact sport, so the chairs are designed to deal with smashing into each other!

The wheels are very slanted so they can turn easily.

A wheelchair for basketball is similar - it has slanted wheels as well, for stability.

It has a simple 'wing' at the front, so players don't get stuck with others when they make contact.

Ricky also has a go on a handcycle - watch to find out if he manages to hit the top speed of 60km/h!
