Air hockey playing robot

Japanese engineers have built a robot that can play air hockey better than humans.

Researchers at Chiba University's Namiki Laboratory gave the robot two high-speed cameras allowing it to see things in super-slow motion.

This isn't the first robot that can play air hockey but researchers say their bot is the first to be able to change its playing style to make the game more interesting.

So for example it can choose to attack or defend depending on the way the game is going with a human.

It's been built as an artificial playing partner but it doesn't sound like it would be much of a fair game!
