Tonnes of rubbish left on UK beaches, say local councils

With the sun shining, loads of you will be packing up your bucket and spade and heading to the beach.

But how many of you take all your rubbish home afterwards?

The people in charge of beaches say not enough of you are clearing up.

Tonnes and tonnes of litter were left on beaches around the country over the weekend.

On Brighton beach alone, 20 tonnes of trash were scooped up.

Last year the council had to put out an extra 60 bins to try to deal with the mess.

They're now urging visitors to take all of their litter home with them.
