Mount Etna lights up night sky

A massive eruption from Mount Etna lit up the night sky over the island of Sicily this weekend.

Standing 3,350m tall, Mount Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe.

Eruptions like this are quite common. Sometimes planes have to alter their routes to avoid flying through the ash clouds the volcano causes.

The latest eruption didn't endanger any homes and nobody was hurt.
