Surviving the Typhoon - a Newsround Report

It's almost three weeks since Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, destroying homes, schools, and vital infrastructure.

The United Nations Development Programme has warned that the scale of reconstruction needed is even bigger than after the Asian Tsunami of 2004.

They estimate that it could take as long as 10 years to rebuild completely.

It means that the childhoods of many young people will be dominated by the disaster.
