Help needed for mothers and babies in South Sudan

A charity is calling on world leaders to help mothers and babies in South Sudan.

According to Save the Children, the African country is one of the most dangerous places to give birth in the world.

Unlike here in the UK, in South Sudan proper health care is scarce and many mothers have real trouble getting to hospital to have their babies.

There is good news - progress is being made around the world: these days many more children are living past their fifth birthday than was the case 20 years ago.

That's down to things like more vaccinations and better treatments for deadly diseases.

Ricky reports on the challenges facing mothers and health care workers.
