Hurricane Odile causes damage to Mexico's beach resorts

Hurricane Odile has swept through western Mexico overnight, destroying homes and hotels along the beaches of Baja California.

At it's strongest, the winds were up to one hundred miles an hour.

There are now fears of landslides and flooding in the area.

Thousands of people have moved into shelters and will have to rebuild their homes. Families are receiving help from authorities.

Over the next few days the storm is due to move northwards through the country but forecasters say it should weaken.
