Alex Salmond admits defeat in referendum

Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond has thanked those who voted for independence but accepted that "Scotland has decided No at this stage".

Mr Salmond said: "I call on all of Scotland to follow suit in accepting the democratic verdict of the people of Scotland".
