New bionic hands that can 'feel'

Scientists in Newcastle are using microchips as fine as human hair to bring 'feeling' to bionic hands.

The bionic hand can feel the difference between hot and cold, or hard and soft touch.

The tiny wires in the hand wrap around the nerve endings in the body sending signals to the brain.

£1.4 million has been spent on the project at the University of Newcastle.
