Police explode haul of illegal fireworks

Police in the US state of Texas have disposed of a huge haul of illegal fireworks in a controlled explosion.

They set off all of the fireworks, creating a huge smoke cloud.

The explosion took place in the daylight because "it was not meant to be a fireworks show", Texas police said.

The operation took three-and-a-half days to complete.
