Could huge lasers on the ISS be used to zap space junk?

Scientists trying to clean up space junk are considering fitting giant lasers onto the International Space Station (ISS) to blast the rubbish.

Parts of satellites and spaceships have been floating around space since the first space mission in 1957.

According to Nasa there are around 20,000 bits of junk whizzing around our planet.

Now scientists are concerned this rubbish could damage important satellites in space.

So could mega lasers fixed onto the ISS be an option?
