Four deep-water coral reefs discovered
Four new deep-water coral reefs have been found in the Atlantic Ocean.
They were discovered over 1.2 kilometres in seas west of Ireland by a team of marine scientists from Plymouth in the UK.
The scientists used new technology which works out where the best conditions are for coral to grow in the sea.
They think it's a scientific breakthrough which will help them to protect rare and delicate corals in the future.
Watch the clip and hear deep sea expert Dr Kerry Howell, from the University of Plymouth, explain why coral reefs are so important...
