Where is Hurricane Matthew heading next?

Hurricane Matthew has swept north across the Caribbean, bringing with it heavy rain and strong winds of 145mph.

The storm has devastated areas of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, passing on towards Cuba and onwards to North America.

So why do hurricanes form and where is Matthew predicted to move to next?
