Driverless cars: first UK test near people

For the first time ever in the UK a car that drives itself has been tested around people.

It drove around Milton Keynes in England on pavements near the town's train station but there was a driver on board in case of an emergency.

It's able to drive on its own by using cameras and lasers to help it work out where its going - and when it needs to stop.

The Government is investigating what changes need to be made to motoring laws to allow driverless cars on our roads by 2020.
