InSight mission to blast off to Mars

An important spacecraft called InSight is being sent to Mars to find out more about how rocky planets are formed.

It is due to blast off on 5 May from California, making it the first launch like this ever from the west coast of America.

Its mission is to find out more about how rocky planets are formed, which could give scientists more information about which ones may be able to support life.
