Watch: What's it like fasting for Ramadan?

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims don't eat or drink between dawn and sunset.

Fasting is important as it allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Allah, or God.

After sunset families will eat together. This meal is called the iftar.
