Why we want to stop using plastic straws

Pupils at the Russell School in Surrey have discovered that their school uses 850 straws a week.

They are trying to get the school to stop using straws so they have designed milk cartons without straws, written to milk companies and collected straws throughout the school to use in projects instead of throwing them away.
