The Snowman picture book celebrates 40th anniversary

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the classic Christmas story, The Snowman.

Originally published as a picture book by author Raymond Briggs in 1978, it captured the hearts of audiences around the world.

The story of the snowman and his friendship with a young boy called James has since been adapted into an animated film and novels.

To mark the 40th anniversary since its creation, author Michael Morpurgo has written his own version of the novel.

We went to meet a group of kids who were invited to a special reading of Michael's novel and we asked them all about their perfect snowman!
