Coronavirus: The cub group that 'climbed' Mount Everest during lockdown

Whether it's dancing, keepy-uppies, or doing laps of the garden, it seems everyone is trying to smash a challenge during lockdown.

And these kids from a cubs group in Stockport are no different. Together they virtually climbed higher than Mount Everest by going up and down their stairs thousands of times!

The group challenged themselves to climb a mountain over 48 hours in isolation.

All together they climbed a whopping 8907 metres, which is 59 metres higher than Everest.

They got into the spirit of things by dressing up like mountaineers and they also camped in the garden to replicate base camp - which is where mountaineers prepare for a climb.

It's been been the perfect distraction on lockdown and has kept them active too.

Check out what some of them had to say about smashing this amazing challenge!
