Rose Ayling-Ellis talks about starring in an episode of Doctor Who
A brand new series of Doctor Who is on its way, and we got to chat to some of the stars from the new season at a special screening, including Rose Ayling-Ellis.
Rose was an actor on EastEnders and was the winner, and first deaf participant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.
In the new series of Doctor Who, Rose plays a character called Aliss in an episode called The Well, which showrunner, Russell T Davies said is the "scariest episode" in the season.
Ncuti Gatwa - who plays Doctor Who - talked about starring in the episode alongside Rose: "Our characters communicate in BSL (British Sign Language), we felt so connected."
"It was incredible to learn BSL," Gatwa added, admitting that he can still sign his name, but needs to practice.
"I feel like we all should [learn BSL], it should be a language we learn in school."
