Nottingham Forest are still eager to sign Leicester City captain Wes Morgan despite having an initial bid rejected, reports BBC East Midlands Today.

The Reds made an offer for their former defender last week and, although the Foxes are keen to keep the 29-year-old, Forest boss Billy Davies wants him to play a key role in a new-look defence.

Morgan was with Forest for 10 years before joining Leicester in 2012.

He was player of the season last term and helped them reach the play-offs.
