Jordan Chiedozie: Cambridge United sign Concord striker

Cambridge United have signed striker Jordan Chiedozie from Concord Rangers on an 18-month contract.

The 20-year-old's 30-yard strike secured the Conference South side an FA Cup replay with Mansfield earlier this month, which they subsequently lost.

Chiedozie has scored seven times in 11 appearances this season.

"Jordan was a non-contract player at Concord, which enabled us to sign him outside the transfer window," said U's chief executive Jez George., external

"We were aware of a number of far bigger clubs showing an interest in him, so we've worked really hard and really quickly to secure his signature.

"We would like to thank Concord Rangers for their help and co-operation. We have huge respect for them.

"They have had great success over the last few years and they are doing a fantastic job in developing young players."

Chiedozie, who signed for Concord back in July after leaving AFC Bournemouth, said: "It's a good step in the right direction for me."
